What To Use It For
- Labelling furniture pieces directly – ‘Master Bedroom wardrobe’, ‘Living room shelf’
- Bundling loose items – cables, curtain rods, rolled-up rugs – without damaging surfaces
- Holding drawer and cabinet contents closed during a move
- Temporarily sealing appliance doors so they cannot swing open during loading
- Marking storage boxes with temporary labels that can be updated later
- Painter’s tape for straight edges on walls during renovation
- Protecting surfaces during drywall, tiling, or carpentry work
Moving & Storage
Masking tape is the only tape safe to apply directly on painted walls, wood, glass, and fabric. Strong packing tape and branded tape have aggressive adhesives that lift paint or leave sticky residue on finished surfaces. Removable labelling tape bonds firmly enough for transit but peels cleanly every time.
Tip: Do not leave masking tape on painted surfaces for longer than 7 days – in direct sun or high heat it can bond more firmly and risk lifting paint on removal.
Renovation & Painting
Painter’s tape is used to create clean, sharp lines on walls and surfaces during painting. Apply firmly to the edge of the area to be masked, paint over it, and peel off while the paint is still slightly wet for the sharpest lines. Works on wood, glass, metal, and smooth plaster.
