Why Size Matters With Heavy Items

A large box full of books can exceed 30 kg – dangerous to lift and likely to tear the base. The small packing box reaches a safe carrying weight before it is full, protecting both the packer and the box. Professional movers never pack books into large boxes. For dense items, always use the smallest box that still fits the item.

Tip: Pack books flat and spine-down, not on edge – this distributes the weight evenly across the box base.

Storage & Shipping

The compact size makes small storage boxes easy to arrange on shelves, in a storage unit, or on a moving truck. They are the preferred size for sending goods upcountry – a courier or bus service can handle a small book box that one person can lift and load independently.

Tip: Add a silica gel sachet inside small boxes going into storage. Silica gel absorbs the moisture trapped inside sealed cartons, protecting books, papers, and dense items from humidity damage and mould growth.
